Overview

Because there are times in life when you need that extra help

No matter what your circumstances, there are often times in life when it can become difficult to manage the complexities of your financial affairs.

While you can’t predict the future, you can prepare for it by ensuring you have support in place for whenever you might need it. Whether you need someone to simply look after the administrative details of your investments, or take full responsibility for your financial wellbeing, our Lifestyle Assist service can help.

Keeping your finances under control

Should at any stage you become less able to manage your affairs, we can take on those duties for you. By engaging The Trust Company under a Power of Attorney, we’ll take on all the administrative duties of managing your finances, while working with you to make the most important decisions.

Your financial and personal affairs are, of course, not something you can entrust to just anyone. However, we’ve helped look after the wealth and wellbeing of individuals and their families for more than 125 years, and we have the experience and expertise to look after you too.

“After my wife died, I felt like the everyday tasks such as paying bills and managing the finances were starting to feel like a strain. The Trust Company’s Lifestyle Assist service helps me remain independent but has relieved that burden. Most importantly it has freed up my time so I can spend it with my children and grandchildren and live life to the fullest once again.”

Case Studies

Meet Margaret, 73

“I’d been married to Sam for 40 years when he died. Throughout our marriage, Sam had handled all the finances, including paying bills, doing tax returns for both of us and investing in a significant share portfolio. In his Will, he left everything to me. Quickly, I realised I didn’t have enough knowledge to handle all the affairs, especially at such a difficult and emotional time. I went to The Trust Company. I asked them to help, and that’s just what they did. They took charge of my finances; they asked me what I needed, and they manage my share portfolio to meet those needs. They pay my bills every month and they prepare my tax return every year. As time went on, I decided the family home was no longer suitable for me. The Trust Company sold the house for me and helped to find me a new unit, which is smaller and more comfortable.

These days, I find it more difficult to move around, and there are some household tasks that I just can’t manage. I want to stay in my own home, so they arranged for carers to call on me once a day to help me to get up and about. My shopping is delivered every week, and they arrange for medical help when I need it.

I’m still living comfortably at home, knowing that my affairs are being looked after. Most importantly, I know that I am being well looked after too.”
