Fund objective
The Trust Philanthropy Fund (The Fund) aims to provide charitable trusts, non-profit organisations and investors with a balance between regular income and growth returns over the long term, so that there is growth in the regular income which can be used to support charities and philanthropic investments.
Risk and return profile
The price of Australian and international securities can be extremely volatile, and may fall as well as rise. That volatility will be directly reflected in the price of units in this Fund. Investors in this Fund should have a timeframe of 5 or more years.
Investment style
We aim to achieve the investment objectives of the Fund by investing in a diversified portfolio of Australian and international assets using the Multi-Manager investment process. Russell Investment Management Ltd (Russell) has been appointed by Trust as the investment manager to implement the Multi-Manager investment process for the Fund. Therefore, the Fund is managed using a collaborative approach between Trust's funds management business and Russell where investors benefit from the Trust Group's established experience in the management of charitable trust investments and Russell’s experience and expertise in asset class strategy and the Multi-Manager investment process.
The Multi-Manager investment process involves Russell selecting a range of specialist investment managers with complementary styles and unique investment processes to enhance the diversification within the Fund. The aim of using the Multi-Manager process is to provide consistent, above average returns over the long term, while managing/controlling risk.
Trust, in conjunction with Russell, continually monitor the asset allocation, investment approach and overall strategy of the Fund to ensure the investment objectives of the Fund are met over the medium to long term.
