R & M McGivern Art Prize
Promoting artistic excellence
The R & M McGivern Art Prize is a prestigious award that promotes artistic excellence in watercolour, oil and acrylic painting.
The award was established through the will of the late Muriel Evelyn McGivern who passed away on 29 January, 2000. The award is in memory of herself and her husband, the late Reginald McGivern.
The prize is awarded every three years from the date of Mrs McGivern's death. It was first awarded in 2003.
The award’s value
As a guide, the recipient of the 2006 R & M McGivern Art Prize received $10,000.
