The Vasanta Scholarship is open to male and female students of the violin, piano, organ, cello or viola. It is awarded on a biennial basis to assist study abroad for a year or more.
The scholarship was established in the will of the late Marrianne Collinson Close "in memory of her mother, Mrs Louisa Slade Close, and sisters, Miss Ethel Pedley, Miss S Stephen and Miss A Stephen, Mrs Paige Ranken and Miss E Woolley who helped me in my musical education and understanding."
Are you eligible?
To be eligible for this award, you must have spent the greater part of your life prior to selection in New South Wales.
The scholarship’s value
As a guide, the recipient of the Vasanta Scholarship 2009 received $7,000.
How to apply
The 2011 application form will be available in mid-2010. Interested parties can register for a 2011 application form by sending an email to awards@trust.com.au.
Key dates for the Vasanta Scholarship 2011
Close of entries is 3 December 2010.
The winner will be announced in March 2011.
All application forms and fees must be submitted to Trust Company no later than 5.30pm on the closing date.
Previous Winners
Trust congratulates Miss Alice Higgins who was awarded The Vasanta Scholarship 2009. Miss Higgins will use the scholarship to further her studies in Germany.
